Low-maintenance thermal applications

Thermal collector frames are becoming an increasingly common sight on rooftops everywhere. Many use aluminium extrusions because they look good and are easy to maintain.

Aluminium for renewable solutions

Rooftop frames need to fit into their surroundings. They need to stand up to the forces of wind and weather, and they should add to the overall look of the building. Hydro offers a high-quality finish to its aluminium solutions, and can customize the look even more according to your specifications.

Solar thermal collectors

In addition to frames, we manufacture and deliver multi-port extrusion absorbers for use in design solutions that have broken new ground in the solar thermal heating segment. One design, with the multi-port tubes coated directly on the surface, allows for thinner absorbers than ever before to be produced. No additional sheet is needed and welding can be abandoned.

Aluminium can be recycled endlessly

Aluminium is like an energy bank. Only 5 percent of the energy required to produce primary aluminium is needed to remelt aluminium for new uses, with no loss in the quality of the metal. This makes sense environmentally and financially.

Independent measurements confirm that a collector with a multi-port absorber produces more energy than a collector with an absorber in a traditional tube-and-plate design.

We also produce tubes for use in harp absorbers and meander absorbers.
